Cat’s Claw Removal Morning – Saturday 12 October 2013

There is a forest of Cat’s claw growing on the FGNR koppie’s southern slope. The Cat’s claw creeper is a category 1 invasive species which kills trees. The creeper will be cut down from the trees and the remainder of the creeper will be treated with herbicide.

Time: 8:00 – 12:00
Where: Meet @ Faerie Glen Nature Reserve main entrance
Who: Anybody is welcome!

What to bring:
-Pruning shears (snoeiskêr), Sickle (sekel), small hand-saw (klein handsaag)
-Gardening gloves
-Sun hat, old clothes (long sleeved) and closed shoes for working in the field
-Something to drink while working

FFGNR will provide:
-Herbicide and paint brushes
-Plastic gloves for working with herbicides
