Mandela Day Hack Sun 17 Jul and Geology Walk Sat 23 Jul

Please join us for Mandela Day on Sunday 17 July for an invasive species hack. Please come and do your 67 minutes for Mandela day and make a difference in the well-being of your natural environment!

Details of the events below:

MANDELA DAY HACK 17 JULY:

Time: 07:30 – 11:00

Where: Meet @ Faerie Glen Nature Reserve main entrance

Who: Everybody is welcome!

RSVP: Please e-mail if you plan on helping

What to bring:

-Pruning shears (large and/or small)

-hand-saw / klein handsaag

-Gardening gloves

-Sun hat, old clothes (long sleeved) and closed shoes for working in the field

-Something to drink to keep hydrated

FFGNR will provide:

-Herbicide and latex gloves

-Tree poppers

Join us on Saturday 23 July for a Geology Walk presented by Prof Adam Bumby from the University of Pretoria. Find out how the Bronberg Ridge formed and see some of the world’s oldest rock formations.

GEOLOGY WALK 23 JULY:
When: 09:45 for 10:00

Where: Meet on the lawn in front of the entrance building.

Bring along: Hat, comfy shoes, water. A fold-up chair is advisable for the lengthy introduction.

Cost: FFGNR members –FREE

Non-members – R60
